Less than two weeks after the first corruption scandal rocked PPK’s government, Peru’s president today once again made clear that he is 100% committed to fight corruption and nepotism in the Andean nation. During a public statement Pedro Pablo Kuczynski announced 5 measures aiding the fight against corruption.
Revision of the Presidential Office
The president asked the Peruvian Prime Minister Fernando Zavala to make a proposal for reorganizing the Presidential Office and defining requirements for future advisers
Evaluation of personnel and associates
The members of the cabinet have to assess their closest personnel and associates immediately and in detail to ensure they have chosen the right persons.
“Civil Death”
Civil servants found guilty of corruption can’t ever work for the Peruvian state again; not for the central government, nor the municipality or in the regions.
Joint fight against corruption
The President of Congress (Luz Salgado), the Head of the Judiciary (Victor Ticona) and the President of the Republic (PPK) convene to fight together against corruption in all three branches of the government.
Creation of a Presidential Integrity Commission
The Presidential Integrity Commission reports directly to the President and proposes legislative and practical measures to tackle corruption. First results and recommendations are expected in 6 weeks.
