As every year on the first Saturday in February, today is the "Dia Nacional del Pisco Sour" - the National Pisco Sour Day, where Peru celebrates its national drink and most popular cocktail.
Even though there are festivals and celebrations with cultural activities, great Peruvian food, music performances and of course lots of Pisco Sour this weekend throughout the country, the hotspots are surely in Lima and the Pisco producing regions in the south of Peru.
Unfortunately, due to the heavy rains and flooding in some parts of Peru, some festivals have been canceled in the last minute. The huge Festival Internacional de la Vendimia 2017 and the Festival del Pisco Sour in Paracas for example were called off.
But in Lima most districts still go forward with their own celebrations and festivals. The municipality of Surco for example celebrates with a big festival until tomorrow, Sunday 5th at the Parque de la Amistad. At Megaplaza (Plaza Conquistadores) in Independencia you can enjoy an “Obama Sour” and compare it to a “Trump Sour” while admiring the biggest glass of Pisco Sour ever mixed (15l) as well until tomorrow. And restaurants and bar across town offer amazing Pisco Sour creations and specials.
And even if you are not in Peru right now, you can celebrate abroad as well. Lots of Peruvian restaurants and bars worldwide will spoil their guests with their own Pisco Sour variation.
Or just make your own Pisco Sour with our well tested recipe.
