Since March we know that the 10th edition of Mistura won’t be held at its former location in Lima’s Magdalena del Mar, but moves further north to Callao. Yesterday however Apega, organizer of the event, surprisingly announced another change of location for this year’s gastronomic fair.
Mistura 2017 will held at the Club Revolver, behind the Church and Convent of the Descalzos near the Alameda de los Descalzos, a beautiful tree-lined promenade in Lima’s district Rimac, which is just north of downtown Lima separated from the historic city center just by the Rimac River.
The decision was explained by highlighting that Rimac is one of the oldest districts in Lima full of Peruvian culture and traditions. So, visitors of the gastronomic fair could not only indulge in Peru’s culinary delights, but also visit nearby attractions such as above-mentioned Church and Convent of the Descalzos, the Plaza de Acho, the oldest bullfight ring in the Americas, Cerro San Cristobal, a 400 m high hill which offers breathtaking views over the Peruvian capital, and other historic monuments.
According to Apega’s announcement more details will be published soon. Let’s hope that the seven remaining weeks until September 7, when Mistura is supposed to open, is enough time to get everything ready.
As soon there are more info we will let you know.
